We are George and Linda Gehl of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Like many of our generation, we are looking for both a quiet place in the mountains to escape the heat in the summer and, when we retire, a place to enjoy year round. In our search we discovered that pricing in the North Carolina mountains has already increased dramatically during the past decade. The same is true of some areas of Georgia and Tennessee. In addition, we wanted an area relatively near to Interstate Highways and airports with good medical facilities within an hour's drive. We wanted golf, fishing, hunting, good restaurants, the rural lifestyle, and a low cost of living. After three years of searching, we found a little corner of Paradise in southwest Virginia near the Blue Ridge Parkway in Carroll County just minutes from Mt. Airy, North Carolina. Our land offers both great views and frontage on native trout streams. We are not large developers, but rather two individuals wanting to develop a small peaceful log home community to simply escape and provide a place for our grandchildren to enjoy. We also wanted to buy now before prices rise dramatically as more and more of us seek out a home in rural America. Come join us. George & Linda Gehl
