• Galax Carroll Grayson Chamber of Commerce - a regional organization working to promote and improve the area’s economic climate. As our Chamber’s logo displays, our focus is on the entire community including business, industry, education, tourism, agriculture and citizen involvement. A dedicated 18-member board of directors leads the Chamber in its efforts.

• Labor Day Flea Market & Gun Show - Every Labor Day Antique dealers, gun dealers and traders of all kinds come to Hillsville, Virginia and make this one of the largest Flea Market & Gun Shows in the southeast. Hillsville expects to draw over 500,000 visitors on Labor Day weekend.
  
  

• Blue Ridge Parkway - The Blue Ridge Parkway, sometimes called "America's Favorite Drive", is the most visited unit of America's National Park System. A drive down the Parkway provides stunning, long range vistas and close-up looks at the natural and cultural history of the southern Appalachian mountains. It is designed as a drive-awhile and stop-awhile experience, so please don't be in a hurry.

• Floyd Activities - Though the entire area surrounding our log homes is dotted with antique shopping opportunities, Floyd offers unique musical experiences particularly country picking each Friday evening at the Floyd Country Store. For Blue Grass and Folk music, a visit to Floyd is a must.

• Game and Fisheries - Fairystone Farms Wildlife Management Area occupies 5,321 acres, primarily in Patrick County, with the balance -- 460 acres -- located in Henry County. Divided into several parcels, the management area surrounds much of Fairystone State Park and borders portions of Philpott Reservoir. The area is nestled in the eastern foothills of the Blue Ridge and features steep slopes and small areas of bottom land. The woodlands on the area are predominantly a mix of oak, hickory and pine. Beech and poplar grow in the narrow valleys. Forest management stresses maintaining habitat suitable for turkeys, deer and a variety of small game and nongame wildlife. An eight-acre marsh impoundment is a refuge for migrating waterfowl.

• Philpott Reservoir - Philpott Reservoir is a 2,880-acre impoundment located near Martinsville in Franklin, Henry and Patrick counties. This reservoir is situated in the mountains of Patrick and Henry Counties, which is a picturesque setting for outdoor enthusiasts. Philpott Reservoir is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is managed primarily for flood control and hydroelectric power generation. There is no residential development along its shoreline but there are numerous boat landings and facilities scattered throughout the reservoir. Bring your boats and skis and spend a day just boating and skiing on at Philpott Reservoir.

• Chateau Morrisette Winery - is located in a spectacular mountain setting in Floyd County off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway between mileposts 171 and 172. The winery and gift shop are open seven days, Monday-Thursday 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Friday-Saturday 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  
  The restaurant at serves lunch Wednesday-Saturday 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Sunday lunch/brunch from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and dinner Friday-Saturday 6:00-9:00 p.m. The ambiance and atmosphere of this restaurant make dining there a truly unique experience.
  

• Golf at Old Mill Golf Course - Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Olde Mill Golf Course is situated close to our log homes, antique shopping, historic landmarks, and many other interesting attractions. They offer a dramatic change from the hustle and bustle of the city. Quiet atmosphere beautiful scenery and a comfortable climate make Olde Mill the perfect getaway. It is one of the most beautiful courses we have ever seen. The setting is magnificent.
